Given the importance of the upcoming parliamentary elections, we have prepared a special “election” edition of our 3rd dialogue. The dialogue aims to develop public discourse on the values that participants see as key, so that practising them helps solve current social problems – e.g. extremism, poor communication between citizens and public institutions/officials, or other topics such as environmental protection, security or foreign relations.
Which values do we want to support in the election? Can personal and humane values such as sincerity, honesty or kindness also be applied to public office, and how much do they matter to us when choosing our political representatives?
In a broader context, the dialogue aims to improve the public communication space and to build the capacity of natural civic authorities, participatory leaders and citizens in the skills, attitudes and values that support democracy and social cohesion.
As always, we invite citizens of all generations, so that the widest possible range of attitudes, opinions and life experiences is represented, as well as experts, civic and public leaders, including Banská Bystrica city councillors. All views and voices are welcome. We believe that dialogue with one another will contribute to sound value-based and electoral decisions – a lot is at stake!
