2nd event of the Open Government Partnership Initiative in Banská Bystrica

The second discussion event of the Open Government Partnership Initiative in Banská Bystrica took place on 31 March 2021 on the Zoom online platform. It was attended by 22 participants from the city office and civil society.

🎯 Aim of the meeting

The main aims were:

• to launch the Open Government Partnership Platform,
• and to discuss the tasks of the members of the so-called Core+ group, which will drive the participatory process of drafting the action plan.

🧩 Key outcomes

The discussion and group work identified important areas that will support drafting the open government action plan:

• A strategy for involving different groups (young people, vulnerable groups, entrepreneurs, councillors, city leadership)
• Technical support for online meetings and digital tools
• Simpler, clearer and gender-sensitive language
• Joint “harvesting” – visual records and interpretations of the discussions
• Gathering information on “what is happening in the city” (projects at the city office and in civil society)
• Strategic anchoring of OGP in relation to current city and national strategies (UMR, Smart Municipality, Operational Programmes, AGENDA 2020, EU frameworks)

✋ Participant involvement

Participants were invited to become co-owners of selected activities according to their capacity and interests – by adding their name to individual areas in a shared document. Initiative from participants is also welcome – suggestions for meetings, ways of working or methodological approaches.

• A visual record of the meeting was prepared and published for everyone.
• Invitations and outputs will be available on an ongoing basis on the Facebook page of the Local Open Government Initiative in Banská Bystrica.
