The revitalisation project for the City Park on Tajovského Street in Banská Bystrica was carried out participatively – with the active involvement of residents, experts and the local government.
The aim was to jointly design a public space that is functional, inclusive and sensitive to both the history and the future needs of the city.
In cooperation with the Department of Participation and Innovation in Open Government, Dialogue Centre provided the design, organisation, facilitation and processing of outputs for a comprehensive participatory process.
More than 200 residents took part in shaping the proposal through planning meetings, discussions, questionnaires and public presentations. Their input was processed and handed over to the City Architect's Department as the basis for an architectural design competition.
The process also included organising expert conferences on the park revitalisation.
